Minori Takechi (Hereby after: Takechi）: Great to meet you, I am Takechi the CEO of Gatebox.
Nobuko Nakano（Hereby after: Nakano）: I am Nobuko Nakano, it is my pleasure to meet you.
Takechi: Have you ever been to Akihabara, where the Gatebox headquarters is?
Nakano: I graduated Tokyo University, but Akihabara is just down the hill so I often came to purchase lab instruments.
Takechi: Really? Were they equipment for experiments?
Nakano: Yes, for instance I used MRI for experiments in many cases, and because metal cannot be used, it was not possible to use it regular goods sold on market. So I collected parts by myself. When I used to visit Akihabara, there were not any maids yet so I really know the time when Akihabara was 99% male dominant.
Takechi: Ah I see, the time when Akihabara when it was known for the electronics town.
Nakano: The atmosphere changed now totally.
Takechi: Next to our office there is a parts supplier, so I still sometimes go and purchase sometimes. So the device Gatebox is developed in such an area Akihabara, and since it is your first time seeing it, please let me introduce briefly. Gatebox is a device created with the vision of ”Living with Characters”, where it enables the future to spend your times with characters. In the device, a holographic image of a character is displayed where you can communicate. This creates an experience as if you are actually living with the character.
Nakano: That is an awesome and beautiful concept!
Takechi: Thank you so much. In the beginning, rather than focusing on the technical aspect, I focused on polishing the concept of “living with characters” . Then many members resonating with the spirit gathered which made me possible to reach where we are right now.
Nakano: That is so good. Hikari-chan is so adorable with her having a very coquettish feel; like the way she tilts her neck. Is this your fetish Takechi-san?
Takechi: Oh yes, 100% my taste lol.
Nakano: I can tell that you are very careful with the details, and shows that your meticulousness which is very nice.
Takechi: What I brought today is still under development, so I cannot show you the full feature, but simply Hikari-chan’s concept is my “waifu”. She heals always.
Nakano: Definitely makes you want to spend time with her all the time. By the way, have you seen the movie Blade Runner 2049? In the film there is a female character called Joi. I am sure the expression slightly differs from the US and Japan, but did you picture of her when you were creating the existence of Hikari-chan?
Takechi: Frankly speaking when I saw the movie, I thought it is our film lol. In the near future we would like to be able to express in a life-size human like way like Joi. Current Gatebox is limited in the expression on the device, but one day we would like to make it possible to go on a date outside. I would like to create that kind of world. The only character available right now is Hikari-chan, but I would like to make many different characters to be able to be summoned, so users can live with each favorite character. Oh also if you push this switch, you can hear Hikari-chan’s voice.（*presses button*）
Azuma Hikari: ”When I drink coffee, I feel like a mature person!
*Everyone in the room laughs*
Nakano: *giggle* Oh that is cute!
Takechi: She sounds a little bit silly and cute. Let me push the button once again.（*PressesButton*）
Azuma Hikari: ”I mustn’t forget this… but let me take a break first.”
Nakano: So she’s a type often forgets things? I think rather than remembering everything perfectly, being a little bit sloppy is better. Especially when building a relationship. I really love the logo too. It has a cool and intelligent impression with the hexagon.
Takechi: Thank you. I put so much care in this device, so if I explain it on a full scale, it would probably take so much time so let’s proceed to another topic lol.
Nakano: Sure! We definitely want the users to know all!（*looking carefully into Hikari-chan*）She’s really cute with her shape of her eye with nice curves and looking a little bit shy with her eye contact, looking downward often.
